An outdoor LED advertising screen has to stay readable in direct sunlight, keep running through rain, heat and wind, and let you change content without sending someone to the site. We supply IP65 outdoor LED displays matched to the viewing distance and conditions of each location, from close-range storefront signs to large building facades and roadside LED billboards.

Five problems every outdoor advertising screen has to deal with, and what we build into our displays to handle each one.
Different locations need different screens. Here is how we match pixel pitch, brightness and format to each type of outdoor advertising site.
Facade screens are viewed from tens of metres away, so a fine pixel pitch is rarely needed. The priorities are structural safety, the load on the building, and maintenance access.
Recommended pitch: P5 or P6.66 for most projects; P8 or P10 for very large facades
Brightness: 5,500–6,000 nits
Typical format: Large single-sided screens, often front-serviced
Related projects:
Drivers pass a roadside LED billboard in seconds, so text and images must be readable at a glance, even in full sun. Brightness and wind resistance come first.
Recommended pitch: P5 as the standard choice; P4 for sharper images
Brightness: 6,000–7,000 nits
Typical format: Single- or double-sided totems, pylon signs and highway LED billboards
Related projects:
Storefront screens and signs are seen by pedestrians from a few metres away, so image detail matters more than maximum brightness. Space is usually limited, and the screen has to suit the look of the shop front.
Recommended pitch: P2.976 or P3.91 for close viewing; P4 for tighter budgets; P6.66 for large billboards seen from across the street
Brightness: 4,500–5,500 nits
Typical format: Shopfront screens, double-sided blade signs and pharmacy crosses

Start with the viewing distance at your site, then match the pixel pitch and brightness.
| APPLICATION | VIEWING DISTANCE | PIXEL PITCH | RECOMMENDED BRIGHTNESS (NITS) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Building facade | Long (tens of metres or more) | P5 / P6.66 | 5,500–6,000 |
| Roadside billboard / totem | Medium to long, fast-moving traffic | P4 / P5 | 6,000–7,000 |
| Storefront | Short (a few metres to around 15 m) | P2.976 / P3.91 / P4 | 4,500–5,500 |
P8 and P10 suit very large facades viewed from longer distances. Recommended brightness depends on direct sunlight, viewing distance, local lighting and applicable regulations. All models are IP65 rated. Not sure which pitch fits your site? Read What Is Pixel Pitch? →

It depends on the viewing distance. P2.976, P3.91 or P4 suits storefronts viewed from a few metres away, P4 or P5 suits roadside billboards, and P5 or P6.66 suits large building facades, with P8 or P10 for very large ones.
For our recommended applications, 4,500–5,500 nits is enough for storefronts, 5,500–6,000 nits for building facades, and 6,000–7,000 nits for roadside billboards in strong sunlight. Our outdoor models reach up to 10,000 nits, and automatic dimming lowers the brightness at night.
