In modern corporate architecture, wall-mounted display electronics often protrude into the room, cluttering wall aesthetics and occupying premium floor space. For this executive conference center project, the client required a large-format, high-resolution display that would blend naturally into a custom wall cavity—achieving a completely flush architectural finish without sacrificing serviceability or visual depth.

Utilizing our fine-pitch P1.86 indoor LED display modules, we engineered and supplied a 5.12m × 3.36m (17.2m²) seamless video wall. Installed inside a recessed wall alcove surrounded by decorative wood-slat panelling, the final system seamlessly combines 4K-level presentation density with a 100% front-accessible magnetic maintenance structure.

The Engineering Challenge

1. Zero-Tolerance Wall Alignment

The screen had to be embedded into a pre-constructed wall alcove bounded by interior wood-slat acoustic panels and overhead recessed lighting. The module face needed to match the surrounding wall surface perfectly—leaving no gaps, exposed metal borders, or uneven edges.

2. Zero Rear Access

Because the display is fully encased within the wall cavity, rear maintenance was impossible. Every core component—from LED modules to power supplies and receiving cards—had to be fully serviceable from the front face.

3. High-Density Close Viewing

Positioned directly in front of executive conference seating, the display required high pixel density to render small text, complex financial dashboards, and video conferencing feeds without visible pixel grid lines.

Technical & Execution Highlights

1. Precision Steel Sub-Frame & Thermal Planning

Embedding a 17.2m² display requires rigorous structural accuracy. Our engineers designed a custom steel sub-frame anchored inside the cavity. Using laser-alignment, frame flatness was held within a strict 0.5mm tolerance across the 5.12-meter span to ensure smooth module-to-module seam alignment.

Additionally, calculated rear air gaps were incorporated inside the wall cavity to facilitate natural convection, keeping the LEDs running cool behind the flush wall partition.

2. Exact Modular Dimension Math (320×160mm Format)

By utilizing our standard 320mm × 160mm P1.86 module format, the total screen dimensions aligned perfectly with the structural CAD drawings without requiring custom filler trim:

  • Width: 16 modules × 320mm = 5,120mm (5.12m)

  • Height: 21 modules × 160mm = 3,360mm (3.36m)

3. Magnetic Front Maintenance System

To solve the zero-rear-access constraint, each P1.86 module is held on the steel sub-frame by high-strength neodymium rear magnets.

  • Technicians use a magnetic vacuum tool to disengage and extract individual modules from the front in under 10 seconds.

  • Power supply units and receiving cards are housed directly behind the magnetic module layer, allowing complete system overhauls without disturbing the surrounding wall or acoustic wood panels.

4. Broadcast-Ready Performance (3840Hz / 16-Bit Grayscale)

Driven by high-refresh ICs, the screen delivers a 3840Hz refresh rate and 16-bit grayscale. Presentations, live camera broadcasts, and smartphone photos taken during executive meetings remain completely free of scan lines, flicker, or moiré patterns.
